These engines offered better fuel economy but little else. As the popularity of gas credit cards continue to increase, so will the offers. 3. 10 The typical properly maintained diesel engine can run thousands of hours without breaking a sweat - and without having to be rebuilt. Diesel engines are built heavier than gas engines, to help sustain the added stress of the much higher compression ratios.

The typical gasoline garden tractor is belt driven, while a belt drive won't pull as much load as a diesel powered tractor.
